Inspiration: Eng 207
Writing in Digital Spaces in Eng 207 has been an illuminating experience. This class does not just ask you to be creative in your writing, but also in how you portray it. In most all other courses a paper is literally just a paper. You are asked to be creative with your diction and tone. The class allows you to investigate different types of media to not only share your work on, but also enhance your work with. In ENG 207 we discovered sites like Storify, that you could place your work in between videos, pictures, and music. These videos, pictures, and music were to help the understanding of your message. This class was also helpful because it heavily relied on an audience through presentations. So there were many opportunities for class discussion, and group brainstorming. The group brainstorming was enlightening because not only could you express your ideas of how you could enhance your work on a digital space, but your class would also contribute ideas to your work and also ways to improve upon it. This helped your work to be interesting, and better understood to a multitude of audiences. This class, Writing in Digital Spaces is definitely up and coming. I believe the days of books and newspapers will soon be outdated. I think the creativity involved in digital writing enhances the work, saves ink and paper, and now is more easily accessible with technology being so prominent in our society. Soon I think writing will only be portrayed in digital spaces, and classes like ENG 207 are helping the young generations create new and innovative ways to use and create sites for writing online.
